Tokyo - Japan Ambulances and military buses and police were deployed to evacuate hundreds of patients from hospitals located near the Fukushima nuclear power plant.

Japanese Health Ministry official, Yasunori Wada said more than 800 patients are currently being transferred from several hospitals located within a radius of between 20 to 30 kilometers from the Fukushima nuclear power plant problems.

"The operation should be done with extreme caution as they move a lot of patients at the same time, including people who are terminally ill," said Wada told AFP news agency on Saturday (19/03/2011).

"This operation may be completed in one or two days," he added.

Nuclear emergencies that occurred at Fukushima nuclear power plant has caused global concern. Currently, the workers continue to cool the rods of nuclear fuel in order to prevent melting of the nucleus that will lead to nuclear disaster.

The Japanese government has ordered evacuation of all residents within a radius of 20 kilometers from the Fukushima nuclear power plant. And for those who were within 30 kilometers are reminded to not leave the house.
